Liloan Bagacay Point Lighthouse

It was Saturday and I didn't have any plans in going out of town. However, I was bored and needed to break free from the hustle and bustle of the city life. So I decided to go North and Liloan came to mind. It was a sunny afternoon when I arrived in SM consolacion. While waiting for my brother,  I strolled around the not- so-crowded mall. My brother arrived at around 4PM and that was a perfect time to visit the Lighthouse.

Bagacay Point Lighthouse is one of the most popular landmark in Liloan Cebu located in Brgy. Catarman, Liloan beside Amara Subdivison. It is overlooking the sea and it's on top of the 0.5 hectare government land.





It was our first time and I was not familiar with the place. We went there with no GPS or whatsoever but just asked the locales in the vicinity.

How did we get there?


  • My starting Point was in IT Park where I work.
  • Then I rode 04L Jeepney going to SM Cebu City. 
  • Beside Sungold building, there are jeepneys going to Consolacion or Liloan. 
  • You can take Consolacion and have a side trip at SM Consolacion or Co Jordan (please see my other post about this place).
  • If you're heading directly to the lighthouse, then take the Liloan Jeepney.
THE EXCITING PART:

From SM Lacion(Consolacion), you can just take Liloan jeepneys in front of the mall. It is about 15 - 20 minutes ride going to the church. Then tell the driver to drop you off at San Fernando Parish Church going to Catarman.

*** P.S. if you came directly from Cebu City, it's the same drop off point.

From the drop off point (San Fernando Church), you can take a trycicle or motorcycle(habal-habal).
Since we didnt know where it was, we asked a few people what to ride and the landmark. Definitely, the locales are helpful and showed us where to ride the tricycle. 

It takes about 15 minutes riding the tricycle and going to the next stop which is the basketball court. It is the tricycle's pit stop. So from that point, we walked straight to the lighthouse for about 10 minutes. You cannot afford to be lost because the lighthouse is visible from afar. 

When we reached the area, it was not so crowded and the weather was good. The sun was about to set so we hurriedly took some pictures. 





For the expenses, my brother and I spent about 100 PHP / pax for the transportation and food. Well this is the number if you commute. But if you have your own car, then definitely you can go there hassle free and you'd arrive probably 30 - 45 minutes from the city.

Sirao Peak for Only 300PHP

A complete package of scenery is waiting for you on this verdant mountain. It is popularly known as Sirao peak and its atop Mt. Kan-Irag. This famous peak is located near Ayala Heights which Sits at about 780 Masl. Definitely, the easy access to the peak made it highly known for trekkers and families to getaway for the weekend. I've been here for four times with different groups with me.
