Lakawon island Cadiz City

This island reminds me of a handful of memories. It's been more than 2 months since we had our escapade. But I am Not going to narrate our entire bad and good experiences with my pals in this hot, relaxing place. Uhmm. I promise not to go into the specifics. Hehe.

It took us more than an hour to reach the Cadiz terminal from Bacolod. We rode a tricycle going to the port which would take us to the secluded island. Their registration area is pretty much up to date with technology. Amazing!

The 30 min travel by boat going to the island is somewhat a roller coaster ride due to the high waves and the motorboat is kinda small. The water splashing in front and sideways of the banca makes the ride even more exciting.

Finally we reach the Lakawon dock, it was a hot sunny day! I felt like I was so close to the sun. Good thing Mr. Suncream protected my not so brown skin. We then stayed in their resto, rested for a while and ordered some food. The food was yummy but its pricey for a 1-pax serving.

My buds and I didnt plan to stay overnight since we are catching up a trip back to Cebu. Right after we had our full stomach, we headed to the seashore to take selfies and instagrammable photos. You bet! the golden white sand and long bridge are enticing!

My ultimate goal was to see the beauty of the floating bar 'tawhai', which means, peaceful or calm.  A mini motorboat is assigned to take passengers from the docking area to tawhai. When we stepped in, it gave me the impression that it's for people who loves to chill and sun bathe. It gave me a clear view of the sea and the resort. The floating bar is a great place for those who want to relax with a seaview. For those who love to take selfies, sure thing you can get a good spot.  Some tourists took a nap, rest, and drink. We ordered several drinks from their bar. Some opted to dive in and play in the trampoline (sort of).I dont know what it's called. At a later time, we joined the other group in diving into the water.

After an hour spent on the tawhai bar, we decided to head back to Cadiz proper so we can go back home. Not to mention the long hours of travel back to cebu via Escalante route. It was such a literally pain in the butt roadtrip. Probably, close to a nightmare! Ugh! Despite that, we arrived home safe and sound. Thank God!

Overall, it was a great experience eventhough we just stayed there for almost four hours. There is a lot to improve on especially with their food prices and activities. The temperature on the island was so different compared to the other islands i've been to. It was oozing hot which a lot of people i know that have been to this place would've the same comment. Perhaps, it was because of not so many trees being visible on the island. Nevertheless, This is another place added to my bucket checked list but definitely not on my favorites. :-)
