Durano Eco Farm Carmen City

Every year, I make it a point to travel alone. Before the year 2017 ended, I did it! For some it may sound scary, but some finds it nervy. It takes courage, confidence and trust in yourself that you can do it. The best preparation is to always research about the place. What are the do's and dont's, the danger zones, the culture and the best route. Nevertheless, in my case, it was an abrupt decision to visit such a far place all alone.

While on the bus going to Carmen, I did a little bit of research about the whereabouts of the place. Carmen is just an hour away from cebu city. I took a motorcycle (habal-habal) going to Durano eco farm from the carmen public market. The habal2 trip took about 30 minutes not realizing that I was climbing up the mountanious part of CARMEN.  I even passed by the Mt Uruguay entrance. I did trekking there last year.

Anyhow i arrived safe and sound in Durano. It was a close touch to nature's beauty.
The man made stairs is a great spot for instagram photos. The place was surrounded with tall, big trees which made the temperature a little bit cold. The greatest enemy was the mosquitoes. Well it was expected because of the different kinds of plants and trees in the area. Yes ! I brought a sachet of skin repellant. So goodbye to mosquitoes.

What caught my eye was the treehouse standing about 10 -15feet. It cost a thousand bucks to stay but it's good for 4 people. Unfortunately, i never got the chance to sleep because it was fully occupied. I decided to stay overnight in their bahay kubo(hut) for 900 pesos. I could hear the birds chirping in the afternoon and cricket buzzing during the night.

Since the farm was fully packed with people when I arrived, i decided to swim and take photos the next morning.

I've had enough of selfies taken on every single man made pool with the spring water flowing through it. I took advantage of being alone in the place. No one was still up because it was too early in the morning.

Just about to go back to the kubo hut, I notice kuya cleaning the pool.

In conclusion, i love this place for a weekend getaway. If someone would like to have a close feel of nature, I would surely recommend this place. If you are that someone who wants to have soul searching kind of thing, this is also a great place. Surely, you'll find your soul. Just kidding! I spent about 1300 pesos overall for this solitary bliss. Not bad for a solo travel, ayt?
What you waiting for?! Challenge yourself too!
